Well, we are off to Cambodia again. This time however, we have a small group made up of adults. Yep, we have some parents of past students participating in a "condensed" version of the Schoolies Alternative trip!!
Why??
Some families have had all of their children (now young adults), participate in the Schoolies Alternative program and these parents wanted to get a better understanding of what their children had been a part of. They have heard the words, they have seen the photos and in some cases, they have seen a difference in their son/daughter when they returned. Now, they want to experience it for themselves!
Why not take a group of adults we thought. So this is it, our first trip with a small but keen group of 10! If I remember rightly, that's about the same number of students we took on our first trip way back in 2007. That has to be a good omen.
So, we have cram-packed a program into 9 days to allow for only one week of leave from jobs whilst still giving our taste of Cambodia. It will be busy!
We are pretty excited about this 'twist' on a successful program. Stay tuned as some of our parents experience Cambodia from our perspective!!!
